Snipe-IT is open-source IT asset management built on Laravel. It tracks anything with a serial number: hardware, software licences, peripherals and consumables, and it records who has what and since when.
The value shows up at audit, at renewal and at exit. Licence expiry alerts stop renewals arriving as surprises, check-out records show where equipment actually went, and the reporting answers the questions finance asks rather than the ones IT finds interesting.
It self-hosts on Linux, macOS, Windows or Docker, or runs on the vendor cloud. Self-hosting needs PHP 8.2 or later, which is worth knowing before you pick a host.
